This event is only open to artists who have been invited to Showcase Scotland.
As part of the 25th anniversary Celtic Connections festival, Showcase Scotland has teamed up with Help Musicians Scotland to present a day of panels and information sessions, for Scottish artists looking to maximise their international careers.
Leading figures from the Scottish, UK and international music industries have agreed to lend their expertise to the panels, offering invaluable insights for artists touring from Scotland.
Starting at 10 am, and ending at 4pm when artists will be invited to join the opening reception of Showcase Scotland. Panel topics include How to Survive the Long Haul by musicians Ross Ainslie and Mischa McPherson, and the new 24/7 support line and service Music Minds Matter, launched by Help Musicians UK.
With some of the world’s best folk and trad festivals coming to Celtic Connections, a panel from ‘Around the Globe’ will give a platform to some of the leading festival directors about their festivals, with tips for securing a show from participants such as Chloe Goodyear (Woodford Festival Australia), Lisa Schwartz (Philadelphia Folk Festival) and more.
