Wide Days was launched in 2010 to provide a forum for Scottish music businesses and artists to connect with the international industry. It brings together the full spectrum of music industry professionals to discuss range of topics, present new initiatives, and highlight some of the most forward-thinking work being carried out across the business. The convention aims to give a platform to new industry speakers, with a more diverse and balanced line-up than most other conventions.
Wide Days has attracted key music industry players from the UK, US, Norway, Iceland, and the Netherlands. It was named Best Networking Event at the Yearly Music Convention Awards in 2014, was runner-up in the same category in 2015, and was nominated for Best Convention Venue in 2016.
It takes place over two days and has a line up of industry speakers and panels, as well as networking opportunities.
Help Musicians Scotland Bursary
This scheme has been launched with support from Help Musicians Scotland to offer discounted accreditation to emerging artists and industry professionals, who otherwise would not be able to afford full price delegate passes. This scheme subsidises the Friday Delegate Pass (walk-up rate £110) by offering 40 delegates the reduced fee of £25. 10 places will be allocated free of charge, to those who could not otherwise afford to attend.
Help Musicians Scotland will be attending the conference on Friday 20 April – we’ll have an information stand where you can find out more about our services and the launch of Help Musicians Scotland, and we’ll also be talking on the ‘Staying Healthy on Tour’ panel.
